We are seeking an experienced Managing Director to lead and grow a laboratory services business unit. This role is responsible for full P&L ownership, driving business expansion, improving operational efficiency, and building a high-performing team.

The successful candidate will act as a business leader, ensuring sustainable growth, strong client relationships, and operational excellence aligned with company strategy.

Key Responsibilities

● Develop the Business Unit activities through organic growth to meet and exceed performance objectives, while meeting annually agreed EBITA growth objectives (budget) and being responsible for the P&L.

● Improve operational efficiency at laboratories. Streamline operational processes and make good use of IT to achieve high efficiency. Support the development, implementation, and optimal use of the Laboratory Information Management System and ensure its efficient usage at all levels of the laboratory to improve productivity, profitability, and quality.

● Hire, motivate, develop, and retain excellent leaders and employees meeting the preferred profile according to the leadership framework, with a focus on developing and strengthening the next level of leaders.

● Support the sales process and maintain strong, effective relationships with clients. Attend meetings and audits with key clients at all levels and develop an in-depth understanding of customer requirements through regular interactions.

● Develop local strategies to grow the business and offer new services based on strategic opportunities.

● Increase profitability to meet best industry standards across all activities.

● Improve the technical and scientific aspects of the business unit by ensuring appropriate development and application of new techniques and business processes.

● Ensure that cross-selling synergies with other laboratories are developed.

● Define and agree on goals and milestones with teams, ensure goals are clearly communicated, and establish KPIs to monitor progress. Follow up appropriately and be hands-on when required to ensure achievement of objectives.

● Prepare and propose the annual budget and 3-year plan. Report on deviations from agreed results and work closely with financial controls.

● Maintain customer satisfaction, including internal customers.

● Ensure and control compliance with all relevant legal and health & safety requirements. Ensure that accreditations are maintained and regularly expanded, and that all employees act according to company values.

● Lead in accordance with the leadership framework and act as a role model for leadership and staff.

Requirements

● Minimum 10+ years in a managerial role, including 5+ years in a similar leadership position

● Proven track record in P&L management and business growth

● Experience in laboratory services, testing, environment or related industries is highly preferred

● Bachelor’s degree or above in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, Environment or related fields

● Fluent in English

Benefits

● Base Salary: 80,000,000 – 100,000,000 VND (gross) per month

● Annual Package:

○ 13th month salary (guaranteed)

○ Performance bonus based on business results (approximately 2 months’ salary)

● Leave Policy:

○ Annual leave: 12 days (male) / 14 days (female)
