Our client is a global manufacturing company with a long-standing presence in international markets and a diversified portfolio of consumer products. With operations across multiple regions and a strong commitment to innovation, the company is expanding its manufacturing operations in Vietnam and seeking an experienced finance leader to oversee plant financial management.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Control & Compliance

● Establish and maintain a robust accounting control framework to ensure compliance with accounting standards and Vietnamese regulations.

● Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including statutory, management, and internal reports.

● Oversee inventory accounting, cost of goods sold (COGS), and manufacturing costing processes.

● Identify and mitigate risks related to finance, taxation, cash flow, and regulatory compliance.

Budgeting & Cost Management

● Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes.

● Monitor financial performance and provide variance analysis and insights to support operational decisions.

● Optimize working capital and cost efficiency within the manufacturing environment.

Manufacturing Finance Partnership

● Act as a strategic finance partner to the Plant Manager, aligning financial objectives with operational goals.

● Work closely with Purchasing, Logistics, and Production teams to ensure:

○ accurate costing

○ inventory management

○ operational efficiency.

● Provide financial insights for process improvements, investments, and operational initiatives.

Tax, Audit & External Stakeholders

● Serve as the main finance contact for external auditors, tax authorities, and consulting firms.

● Coordinate tax matters including VAT, Corporate Income Tax, and Transfer Pricing documentation.

● Support tax filings and ensure readiness for financial and tax audits.

Systems & Process Improvement

● Work closely with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) to ensure accurate financial data and reporting.

● Review and enhance accounting procedures and internal controls.

● Support financial setup for new operations or site expansion.

Team Leadership

● Lead and develop the finance and accounting team.

● Establish clear processes, policies, and training programs.

● Ensure compliance with company policies and continuous team capability development.

Requirements

● Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.

● 10+ years of experience in roles such as:

○ Chief Accountant

○ Plant Controller

○ Senior Finance Manager

Preferably within manufacturing or foreign-invested companies.

● Strong experience in:

○ manufacturing finance

○ inventory control

○ costing methodologies

○ operational finance.

● Experience working with external auditors and tax authorities.

● Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Purchasing, Logistics).

● Fluent in English and Vietnamese (written and spoken).

Preferred skills

● Strong knowledge of Vietnamese accounting and tax regulations, including Corporate Income Tax and Transfer Pricing.

● Experience with SAP (FICO/MM modules).

● Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

● Advanced Excel and reporting skills.

● Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Additional Information

Travel: Occasional (<10%)

Work environment: Office within a manufacturing facility.
